Beauty Pageants are a way girls can learn important life skills while also having fun. It’s a way to learn the difference between winning and losing and also gaining friendships. Beauty Pageants are encouraging as competitions, that bring out the best in young women. Women empowerment does not come in one form, it comes in many forms. One thing can be considered to be empowerment for one woman but the other might not see how it can be considered as empowerment.
Women who take part in pageants have utilized the platform, and their own platforms, to empower other women, others have also used pageants as a way to advance their careers. Ekta Biswas, 13-year old girl participating in the Mission Dreams beauty pageant Miss India 2021. She hails from Kolkata and will be representing her state Kolkata during the national costumes round. She is passionate about acting and modelling. She says, “On the professional note I don’t have any achievements as of now cause I am yet to explore the world. I am the youngest of all competing among all, but I am looking forward to winning this pageant. Even if I don’t win I will be happy to meet new people and attain this great exposure at such tender age.

Since, childhood Ekta was passionate for acting after she watched an interview of an actress where she described about her journey of becoming an actress at a very young age. Talking about the qualities Ekta possess is that she is hardworking, honest, creative, flexible to work and having a great communication skill.
