Krithi is a participant in the Virtual Beauty Pageant organized by Mission Dreams going to held in the month of August. She is a single mother, dancer, kalarippayattu practitioner, plant based chef, interior architect by education and a model. Let us have a look what she has to about herself and her life.
She says, “I have for the major part of my life trained in Bharatanatyam and along the way learnt; Kuchipudi, Kathak , Odissi, little bit of hip hop , salsa and currently training in belly dancing. I believe fitness is a combination of mind body and soul. In this quest I stumbled upon, the ancient Indian martial art form “kalarippayattu” . This practice is a combination of Shiva and shakti. The most important part of my life is my daughter. Everything that I strive to be is to show her by example what strong women are made of.
From the great Himalayas to the serene Kanyakumari India is a land of beauty and variety. Mission Dreams Miss India Virtual Pageant is a great platform for me to meet some amazing women from all over the country, even if it is virtual. It will allow all of us to share our beliefs and experiences that have made us the strong and beautiful women that we are! I am compassionate and confident and with this combination I believe I can truly make a difference. The courage to stand up for yourself comes from within and you can achieve great things in life if you truly believe in yourself. My goal is to create a sense of sisterhood among women from around the world and help each other rise and become empowered in more ways than one.
A little bit about my journey towards Kalarippayattu:
While I was teaching my dance fitness and posture correction classes in Hyderabad, I heard about a workshop “contemporary dancing using Kalarippayattu”.
I always wanted to learn contemporary dance style and if that combined with the ancient Indian martial art form from Kerala was a win win.
There was no looking back after that. With the two day workshop, I was hooked to Kalarippayattu. The movements and how these movements help is connect to our inner self, aligning chakras and the while being just swooped me away. I searched and this search lead me to Auroville. I started training in Kalarippayattu in Jan of 2019, with a sole purpose of including the movements in my dance fitness class. But now Kalarippayattu has become a vital part of my life and it has a different kevel of respect in my heart and soul. My body and my soul thank me every day for taking the big decision to move to follow what is close to my heart.
As a Plant based chef:
I believe fitness is a combination of mind body and soul. And the big part of that is what you feed your body. In this quest I explored various flavors and got pulled towards ancient Indian cooking; cooking methods, recipes, use of herbs. I also learnt the method behind the madness of rules of cooking.
With my cooking I always try to incorporate traditional recipes, methods and how it serve the food on the order of how it is best absorbed by the body for a soulful experience.
I do Pop ups at local restaurants who have the same mindset about nutrition. Cooking is about, alkaline start to day (1st meal of the day with uncooked food), completely eliminated animal products (milk and milk products included), cooking only with with natural, cold pressed oils.
