Pratiksha Halder was born into a middle-class Hindu family in the remote village of Jalangi, Murshidabad, West Bengal, on September 18, 1999 near the border area of Bangladesh. Her mother, Rekha Saha Haldar, is a housewife and her father, Prasenjit Haldar, runs a stationary shop. Her grandfather Ranendra Kumar Haldar is a retired person and she is the only the child in my family. Her younger sister left her and went to heaven when she was 3 years of age. She says” The biggest sorrow in my life is losing my sister Tanu and my grandmother Suniti Haldar. But, I know they are always with me and I want to live for their dreams”.
Though, the family was not financially affluent yet she was raised in an atmosphere that was full of love and affection. She is an average student but possessed a strong desire to learn and she is very hard working. “I loved Biology and spent hours studying the subject. I have also learnt computer and got diploma degree from Khagra Youth Computer Training Centre in 2018. I wanted to become a doctor but my dream could not be fulfilled. Later I joined to B.Sc. Nursing Course in Kolkata in 2018 as per ranking in JENPAUH (WBJEE).
She says, “I think ‘Work is God” and I love what I do and do what I love. I have immense trust in God. I believe that prayer act as a stimulus to creative ideas. I believe that there exists a divine power that can lift one from confusion, misery, melancholy and failure, and guide one to one’s true place. I begin my day by bowing to my soul and later my parents and grandfather. I am Shiv Bhakta. I respect myself and believe that my first friend is my soul. I think, a person who cannot respect himself cannot respect others.
She is inspired by the characteristic of Eagle bird and following word said by a great man-
“All birds find shelter during a rain. But eagle avoids rain by flying above the clouds. Problems are common, but attitude makes the difference!”
She is an optimistic person & loves listening to music, dancing, gardening and cooking.
“I think, the hardest thing in the world is to make yourself human. I want to work selflessly for the welfare of the World. I am very happy when I can engage myself in the service of any human being as a nurse. I have been nominated in more beauty pageants and have had success like- Lifetime membership from ‘Forever Miss India Beauty Pageant Competition’, got a certificate of achievement in ‘VMC Ethnic Modeling Pageant. I always wanted to do something for the society as well as for our country since I was a teenager. I want to build an Identity for that. I was looking for an opportunity and a platform like mission dreams where I can be a way to empower the society at large through my work. I found about Mission Dreams while scrolling my social media. I think this is something that can give me a ladder success. I discussed about this with my parents. They did not rejoice, nor did they despair. Since, then I never looked back. I leaned forward towards my goal.
I think participation is important, success will come one day. Only hard work and pursuit can open the door to the success in one’s life.
Don’t be afraid. The future must be created by learning from the past and making friends with the present, she added.
