Priya was exposed to the potential world of Fashion & Modelling during her student days in Orissa. Hailing from Orissa she tried her luck in the Fashion Contests held in her state and since then, didn’t look back. Starting her career in Modelling, Priyambada has been crowned Miss Stylish Odisha and she was the Titleholder of Miss. Global India.
Apart from Modelling she is also an avid Fashion Blogger and actress based in Kolkata and there are cahoots that the diva will be soon making her Bollywood Debut too to pursue her acting career. There are millions of bloggers in the world but very few have a charisma to capture people’s mind and engage them with one’s photos and writing. Priya took to her Instagram to pursue her hand in fashion Blogging and successfully brought a change through her Blogs. In such a small period, she marked her presence in the fashion Industry.
Extending her vision for Fashion & Modelling, Priya who has worked with many national and international Brands & seized the opportunity of launching a production label named Mission Dreams Media having its roots in Mumbai and currently functioning in Kolkata. It is aimed at the young Indian Men & Women of today who seek to adopt a progressive outlook in their lives. Currently, Mission Dreams hosts an annual beauty Pageant and is home to a large platform for individuals who seek perspective to showcase their talent through Modelling. Priya believes these pageants have a serious role to play in empowering women. “Beauty is part of what they consider but there are also other values like culture and one’s intellect that the judges look out for. I think people choose to misinterpret the relevance of beauty contests but their significance is evident to everyone. The girls that take part in these contests turn out to be responsible young women who engage in activities that build the country,” she says.
Priya is recognized under the top 9 Bloggers in Kolkata. She stepped off the court to pursue her professional pursuits and entrepreneurial passion. However, being a model, Priya also collaborated with brands like Daniel Wellington, Club Factory, Harley-Davidson, Shine, Lakme India & More and also featured in the Dabboo Ratnani show in the year 2015.
Priya is also actively involved in women empowerment by her work. Her mission is to provide platform to all the women of India and around the world through Beauty Pageants. She says beauty contests have an impact on women empowerment because they give a platform for the girls to be heard on different levels, and most importantly, it places them in leadership and mentorship roles. Beauty pageants are channels of various public campaigns or behavior change, the fact that these girls get a chance to be part of this, places women at the forefront of building our country.
“Beauty pageants are good with diversity. They also serve as a good platform to promote various awareness’s related to youth, business and the creative industry, among others. But we need more creativity in the organisation and management of selected beauty queens,” she adds.
